- At the front of every house, you can find a meter like the one in the picture.

When you get out of your house, before unscrewing any water pipes, just go to the tap and turn it off all the way.

Look on the top and you will see the numbers in the meter. Make sure that no reading is occurring and that there is no water flowing.

Now you can go back into your house and do whatever you need to do, the water is not going to spill.

When you finish, go out and turn back on the tap. You will see that the meter reading is starting to turn, and the water will be flowing into your house again.
